Parish Council

Presided over by the pastor, a consultative group of lay leaders and elected parish members that meet to foster pastoral activities and issues concerning the faith life of the parish.

Finance Council

Presided over by the pastor, and appointed advisory group of lay leaders who meet quarterly to assist the pastor in his duties of administering the temporal goods of the parish.

Stewardship Committee

Presided over by the pastor, lay leaders who meet to foster implementation of the National Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Pastoral Letter on Stewardship in the parish.


24 Hour Eucharistic Adoration

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following morning Mass. 7:30 am on Thursday through Friday morning at 7:30 am

Prayer Chain/Network

Prays for special needs by receiving prayer petitions from parishioners.

Rosary Facilitator

A parishioner leads this community Rosary before all weekend masses and after all weekday masses.

Living Rosary

A decade (Mystery) of the Rosary recited daily by 20 families or individuals so that the Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries are recited in their entirety daily.

Men’s Group

Meets monthly for supper followed by feeding the soul.


Altar Servers

Assist priest at altar with articles and liturgical functions.


Prepare interior and exterior of Church building for liturgical seasons

Eucharistic Ministers

Assist priest in distribution of Eucharist during Holy Communion at Sunday Mass.

Gift Bearers

Bring up the bread, wine and collection during Presentation of Gifts at Sunday Mass.


Warmly welcome people at the main Church entrance as they come to Mass.


Proclaim the Word of God during Liturgy of the Word at Mass.

Liturgical Music

Led by music director to enhance the Mass. It consists of an organist, choir, cantor and other musical instruments.


Helps priest in preparation before Mass and after Mass


Assist in seating, receiving collection, handing out bulletins, and meeting special needs during Sunday Masses.

Sunday Coffee & Rolls

Free coffee and rolls served in the gathering space after the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass from September through April.


Altar Society

Organization of all families of the Parish. Meets three times a year and as needed. Provide food and hospitality for parish events, serve funeral luncheons, brings gift baskets to parish newborns, makes baptismal garments, hosts monthly Bingo and financially supports special needs of the parish.

Building and Grounds Ministry

Meets quarterly to evaluate and maintain parish facilities.

Cemetery Ministry

Joint-parish bi-annual meeting to manage the temporal needs of the Catholic cemetery.

Meals on Wheels

Deliver meals on wheels to shut-ins on a yearly rotation schedule.

Respect Life Ministry

Raise awareness and seek ways to respond to current life issues.

Social Concerns Ministry

Meet to raise awareness and seek ways to respond to current social issues.

Stewardship Ministry

Foster implementation of Stewardship in the Parish.

Vocation Awareness

Raise awareness and seek ways to promote the vocations of the Church.


John Paul II Elementary School

All day academic year of classes for Pre-school through 6th grade; and involves John Paul II Education Committee, administration, teachers, support staff, activity helpers and P.T.O.

John Paul II Education Committee

Together at monthly meetings, the Pastors and Lay members of Holy Family and Holy Spirit Parishes place their gifts at the service of one another and the school/parish community.

Parent Teacher Organization

Monthly meetings of parents whose children attend John Paul II School. Involves planning education, social, and fundraising events for the school.

Faith Formation Program

Grade K-6 Family Formation Classes

Religion sessions during academic year for grades K-6 members of Holy Spirit and Holy Family Parishes and their families.

Grade 7-12 Youth Discipleship

Religion sessions during academic year for grades 7-12 members of Holy Spirit and Holy Family Parishes.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Classes for adults discerning conversion to the Catholic faith and parish members who wish to enrich their knowledge of their Catholic faith.

Marriage Preparation Classes

Please contact your pastor at least six months in advance about preparation for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Baptismal Classes

Please contact your pastor to schedule a time for classes and the Sacrament of Baptism.

Parish Resource Library

Available at the main Church entrance, free religious educational material for all ages and includes DVD’s, CD’s, and books.

Adult Education Library

Books available in the Holy Spirit St. Thomas Aquinas Conference room during the regular parish office hours.


Bulletin – Bulletin Board

Weekly parish bulletin and posting of upcoming events for the parish, community, and diocese.
